Vision

Loving Thunder Therapeutic Riding, Inc., a PATH, Intl Accredited Center, helping people achieve equine skills normally reserved for the non-disabled community.  We want to see anyone with a love for horses be able to ride independently, no matter what their disability might be.  We will provide top-notch staff, team members, and gentle equines. We will support our participants dreams of becoming an “equestrian extraordinaire.”

Meet Our Staff

Twuana Raupp, Executive Director

Twuana is our  Co-Founder, Executive Director, Path Intl Certified Instructor & Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning, and  a Wise Equine Assisted Coach.    

Mike Raupp, Barn Manager

Mike is the Co-Founder of Loving Thunder and manages all the aspects of the barns, including horse management and facility management. He also co-leads the Equine Facilitated Learning program at the Youth Diagnostic Center.  He is a PATH, Intl Certified Registered Instructor, and Equine Specialist in Mental Health.

Nancy Hanson, Volunteer Coordinator & Instructor

Nancy fulfills a long-time need for Loving Thunder and we are exstatic to have her as our bilingual instructor. Nancy speaks fluent spanish and brings a diverse level of experience to Loving Thunder.

Chana Hodosh Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor

Chana (pronounced Hawna) Hodosh’s journey in therapeutic riding and teaching began in 2006.  She is a PATH, Intl Certified Therapeutic Riding Instuctor.  She brings over 20 years of horse riding and training expertise,  She has volunteered at several facilities since and one of her favorite things,while interacting with students, is the joy and smiles her riders display while learning! 

Lauren Fry, Barn Assistant

 I am a 2021 graduate of Rio Rancho High school and am currently attending college at CNM where I’m considering Equine Studies. I have always had a love for horses and began riding lessons in the fourth grade in Virginia. This only ignited my passions that continues to grow. I now have been around these wonderful animals for many years and am so grateful to be a part of Loving Thunder since June 2018.

Beverly Gutierrez, Admin Assistant

I graduated from Belen High School and studied at UNM and TV-I.  I moved to California in 2012 and moved back to New Mexico in 2021.  I have always been a huge animal lover and have always had an interest in learning more about horses.  Being here at Loving Thunder I learn something new every day about horses.  I love being able to share the mission via social media and other media outlets of this amazing organization

Meet Our Board of Directors

Michelle Tregembo, President Pro-Tem

Michelle works for the Developmental Disabilities Council. As the New Mexico Special Education Ombud, she advocates with and for families struggling to navigate the special education system. She has been a volunteer at Loving Thunder Therapeutic Riding since 2017.

Christina St Clare Vice President

Christina St. Clare is a native New Mexican and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis Maryland. She is a retired 20-year career Naval Officer and pioneer as the first woman tactical aircraft, F-14 Tomcat Radar Intercept Officer. She is the first woman of color and one of the first three women to integrate Naval Aviation’s Tactical Air (TACAIR) community.

Board Member

Delana Thompson, Branch Manager of multiple locations with Wafd Bank. Former graduate of Leadership Sandoval from the Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce.   I actively participate in Junior Achievement, and partner with Store House West along with other non-profit’s with in the community. I can be described as not your traditional banker, but one who is appreciated throughout the Rio Rancho Community.

Ian Guenther, Board Member

At – large board member Ian Guenther comes to Loving Thunder with a multi-faceted non-profit background. Currently serving as Treasurer of a foundation, as well as President of a sports non-proft, Ian brings a well-rounded approach and knowledge to Loving Thunder.
